Making Tiramisu - Life can be simple at times.

Met David to hang out in town but he had to accompany me to NUS to submit my SEP documents. On our way to town, the bus past by the Thai Embassy and was having a bazaar so we alighted in order to visit it.

Mango Sticky Rice ($5) and Soya Bean Drink ($1 each)

Contrary to my belief that mangoes sold in public are often sour, this mango is actually sweet. It is almost the same as what you can get in Thailand, I mean, how can get you go wrong with fresh mangoes on glutinous rice?

I must say the staff working at Topman in Orchard ION is very friendly.

Olive vine, which was highly recommended by VB.

Actually we had tried this restaurant already but I did not do a review then.

Cheese Fries ($5.50)

Olive vine's Cheese Fries is much better than what you can get in KFC, as the fries are firmer and crunchier than the latter. Thanks for the fries, VB.

Deep Fried Fish Alfredo ($9.90)

I added pasta ($1.00) because I was hungry but I could not finish it. I gave it to David as the pasta that he had was too fiery for his stomach. Being too creamy, I would not recommend it to people who do not like dairy products. For me, I feel it is a good combination. The fish, though common, was good (as are all fried food isn't it?).

The dinner was rather briefly organized at the last minute and only Tian shuo (with mabel) unable to make it while Jia jia had to work OT.

I had decided to bake Tiramisu!

The ingredients.

No, that wasn't my hand but my sister's.

I am glad I heeded VB's advice not to buy the coffee alcohol because I found a substitute cognac in the kitchen. My sister was helping out because she is keen to bake. Technically, making a tiramisu does not constitute baking because only mixing is required.

The 1st layer of ladyfingers - Not the vegetable that you're thinking of.

On hindsight, we could have dipped the ladyfingers slightly longer time for a more moist and coffee taste.

Covering the ladyfingers with a layer of mascarpone cheese mix.

Doesn't that remind you of brick laying? Ladyfingers = Bricks and Mascarpone cheese mix = concrete.

I sprinkled some cocoa powder which was optional. Kudos to VB for insisting I buy the cheaper cocoa instead of going for the more expensive one since I'm making tiramisu for the first time. The cheaper cocoa (made in malaysia) tasted good.

The surface was rather uneven but well, as long as it tastes good, I'm satisfied.

Place it in the fridge for at least 4 hours before consumption!

Woke up this morning and tried it. Both my sister and I felt it was really good! Success! Below is the recipe:

250grams of Mascarpone Cheese
3 eggs
1 packet of Ladyfingers (not sure if Fairprice has them but I bought this in Carrefour)
2 Tablespoons of sugar
2 shot of Cognac
1 thick coffee (We made it from nescafe coffee)
Some cocoa powder
Muscles for mixing the ingredients (Optional: Electric Mixer)

Steps (My apologies if I sound like I am performing a chemistry experiment):

Make a cup of thick coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. Pour it into a plate to achieve a higher rate of cooling effect. Add 1 shot of cognac and some cocoa powder into the coffee.
Separate egg whites and yolks.
Beat egg yolks and sugar until it turns creamy yellow.
Add marscarpone cheese, 1 shot of cognac and mix till well blended. Leave it aside.
In a separate bowl, beat egg white until super fluffy.
Fold beaten egg whites into the marscapone mixture. Ensure minimal mixing so that it is only sufficiently well-blended.
Dip the ladyfingers sugar side up and place it into the dish sugar side down. Layer with 1/2 the amount of marscapone mix, leaving the rest for the next layer.

So what should my next creation be? I should try as much as I can before my internship starts next week and before school starts. Anyway, I signed up for Standard Chartered Marathon with Lloyd ($75/pax). Freaking expensive but I've heard good reviews from it so far, with Sundown Adidas being the worst. Hopefully I am able to finish it at a decent time. If only I can have Chee Kong's timing, that will be perfect!

Condensed - It's been a while.

It's been about 2 months since my last exam (CM2142 Analytical Chemistry) ended. I have not had sufficient rest yet my internship at Fajar sec is about to commence soon. May be it is because I took CM3291 Advanced Experiments in Organic and Inorganic Chemistry during the special semester. The module was Bah. I certainly hope it will be an eye-opener (the internship) for me. Looking at module codes reminded me about my deproved CAP again. LSM1103 Biodiversity is the bane of my existence cause I got a C+ for it. This is the first module in my university days that I got such a low grade. Really low grade indeed. I swear never to take any life science modules 'cept for the one I am going to take at Technical University of Denmark (DTU) on my exchange.

Speaking of which, I was doing research on the places that I can go while in Denmark during Year 3 Semester 2. It seems like Denmark is situated roughly in the centre of Europe and allows me to travel around! Currently, the only country that I desperately want to visit is Switzerland because of its awesome natural landscapes. I feel it is on par, if not better, than the South Island of New Zealand. SCI SEP has sent us a list of the contacts of students who are going to DTU. Should I email them all for a lunch/dinner gathering cause we are gonna depend on each other in Denmark? 所谓在家靠家人在外靠朋友. Will it be weird? Anyway I guess I will be flying on a different plane with them (unless by coincidence) because MOE has decreed (a rather imposing word) that I need to book a plane ticket via its approved vendor. What is anal about going exchange is the amount of administrative work to be done. It's omgwtfbbq. Till date I have not received the scholarship endorsement letter from MOE. Hope I'll receive it by today so I can time my visit to NUS tomorrow to submit all documents after meeting Dr Leonard to get my recommendation letter.

On an entirely different note, I have decided to take CM3211 Organic Synthesis and Spectroscopy and a UROPS module. If I am unable to secure a UROPS module, I will take CM4211 Advanced Coordination Chemistry to replace a level 3000 core module because the year 3 core modules are does not sound the least bit interesting to me or maybe it is because I did not do well in some of the foundation core modules to warrant me taking up those advanced courses. Kinda excited about the new school term because I can finally choose the modules I want to read (the irony) and to work in the spanking new Radiopulze studio! :D

Sorry for the abrupt change of thoughts but I must thank Lloyd, Stef and Jerel for the present!

At least this saved me from the hassle of choosing a new pair of shoes.

Unimportant aliens unite!

We caught Green Lantern on that day. It was not a bad film but we expected more action from the Green Lantern Corp. There should be more coverage of Blake Lively because she is the female lead! Someone so goddamn chio like her should be featured in the poster itself. I was disappointed she was not in any and was replaced by some fish/insect/alien/rock hybrid.

In The Green Lantern, I felt that they had cast the female lead in a different light - A strong counterpart and not some damsel in distress which is a fresh idea. In the movie, Carrol (Blake Lively) helped Hal to shoot rockets at the monster blob, which temporarily gave her sufficient time to throw him the ring which Hal obtained from the dying purple alien (I like this phrase). Carrol is also Hal's boss and she helped him avoid a dismissal due to unrequited feelings for him. I am a big fan of superhero movies and so far, only Iron Man and Spiderman 2 left me wanting for more. The movie Thor has humour but not enough action as well while X-Men: First Class managed to pull off a satisfactory performance. Lets hope Captain America will be good. Catch the trailer here.

On a side note, Yue Ling gave me some Capitaland Vouchers and I really appreciate it. Oh the reason for the title of the blog is because I have not been blogging and this pretty summarizes everything for the past 2 months. Heh.

OMGWTFBBQ. I just spent 6hours mapping modules for my SEP. I hope I'll be chosen to go. :( But it comes with a price! I have to forgo my EURIP, if I get chosen that is. Anyway I still have 2 lab reports to complete so when I wake up tomorrow, the first thing comes into my mind is physical chemistry! D: Hopefully I'll complete it by Sunday late noon so that I'll have time to myself. I wanted to say that it will be the time for me to revise, but playing dota will make me more sane and less of a nerd. What am I blabbering about, I have no idea. Perhaps it time to hit the sack.

Ironically, the title of the passage has got something to do with my english name, if I did not interpret it wrongly that is. I'm supposed to be good at making decisions. I did. Now its time to press on.

Ah! Ippt later! I hope I get gold. Thanks kong for helping me train for my 2.4km run. If I get gold, I'll treat you to foooooooood. Your chicken rice is still on, david. Haha.

Allanbakes!

It was supposed to be a quest for marine food (Hooked!, which was located at railmall), but it was not open for business! Damn. I think heaven decided to make it up to us with delicious cheesecakes from Allanbakes! I first heard about it in New Zealand from Kong's friend, Kelvin, who gave a super good review about it. We so happen to pass by Bukit Timah Plaza yesterday (while on our quest) and I had this urge in me to go find that bakery. So off we went! Initially, we couldn't locate the shop but guess who I saw! The owner of the bakery was hastily wiping his hands on his apron (I think he visited the loo) while walking towards the NTUC finest! We followed him and he led us to the right place! :D

Conclusion: The cheesecakes were really nice! Smooth and velvety. Why is blackberry the same colour as blueberry when they are baked?

Lloyd was about to buy eclair but Mr Allan (the owner of the bakery) refused payment and treated us! O_O Freakin' nice guy.

Just as we were about to leave, Mr Allan rushed out with his tray with hot piping cookies for us to try! :D

It was buttery in flavour and very crispy! Being a baker myself, I know its super heaty to eat freshly baked stuffs. But nonetheless, it was really tasty! :D~

Mr Allan was quite humourous when he told us to blog about it! Free advert! I know he won't know the existence of this blog, but here it is! For the friendly baker!

After the cheesecakes, we proceeded to Hooked! to find that it was closed. So after our pathetic dinner (Ah Mei cafe and 24Eat), we decided to treat ourselves to drinks at Harry's.

Old Brown Shoe

Had my first life science practical involving wildlife on friday! It was quite an experience as I found that the teaching assistants of the life science labs are generally friendly and amicable! This is in contrast to the angsty chemistry people. The practical required us to look at the different species of leaves and to find out their identities. Unfortunately, after the sorting of leaves, we were unable to walk the Kent Ridge trail as it was pouring meows and woofs.

The practical was fun and relaxing, poles apart from what I'd experienced in chemistry labs so far.

The start of a new semester! (well, almost.)

I dread the start of the new semester because I think I have grown another bone. A lazy one. Pretty lame. Anyway I got all my 5 modules and I strongly feel that I'm gonna die. Organic chem, Analytical chem, Physical chem, Transition metal chem and biodiversity! I'll be a super science nerd and be stuck in FOS for the entire sem. How exciting.

Had no dinner the day before yesterdae so I asked David to eat dinner with me as I wanted to eat the famous chicken rice and the delicious rojak but both were not available! Darn. The chicken rice stall was like almost closing already as they had completely sold out their chicken, while the rojak uncle decided to take a break that day. FML. So we ended up eating frog legs porridge, which tasted very nice! Hopefully I get to eat the elusive chicken rice and the rojak later! Going to eat dinner with my army buddies later.

Went fishing yesterdae at Bedok Jetty with Lloyd and Stef! But before that we went to eat Mos burger for lunch and we gave Lloyd his birthday present (Stef gave alr but the present was really expensive so I had to ask her to chip in as I don't think anyone is willing to pay that amount of money! Not saying Lloyd's 人缘 not 广!) I asked Roy to come fish with us as I saw his fishing photos the day before and Roy brought along Tuan quan and Ming Jie.

The 3 musketeers came in the same fishing tool box, which was named "Sure Catch".

It was drizzling and the wind was rather chilly but we continued fishing. This was my first time fishing! Indeed exciting! I caught 2 fishes in my entire life! I was like asking Lloyd how it felt when the fish got hooked. The vibration is obvious! The hardest part was to unhook the fishes and to throw it into the bucket. They were flailing damn badly and making some "gawk gawk" noises which really made Stef uncomfortable and she felt sad for them. Nonetheless, she told me they tasted damn good. The irony of life. An uncle caught 5 fishes at one time! Amazing! Anyway the fishes that we caught were either kunning or taman (I better credit this to stef, who told me their names.)

I caught a baby grouper! Damn cute and small! We quickly threw it back to the sea. I hope it didn't die.

Roy, Tq and Mj left soon after and we continued to fish till about 8.15pm, after which we set off for Popeyes! Super hungry and we wolved down our meals. The journey back home was relatively short as there was someone to talk to along the journey. Travelling from Bedok to CCK is no joke. Upon reaching home, I washed the fishes and put them in the fridge. My brother told me that mum don't like these kinda things. As in she feels that it is cruel to catch fish but it is different if one buys fish from a fishmonger. True enough, when I woke up and told her where my catch was, she told me not to fish again! D: We'll see about that.

My Favourite Month of the Year

My Mac cannot connect to my mio router during these few days thus I cannot upload my photos which resulted in the lack of postings. Anyway, Merry Christmas (uber late) and Happy New Year! We went to Stef's house for stone cooking! Royston and I kinda got lost while on the way to her home. We missed the bus stop and went all the way to CJC. Finally alighted at the right bus stop after boarding the bus from the opposite side.It was fun and I got to play with her unresponsive meow meow.

Stef had us try her mushroom soup. It was too watery! Nonetheless, it was a good attempt! You can hardly find any girls who can cook nowadays.

Copying the korean style by wrapping the meat in some crunchy veggie. It tasted good! Even better with the sour chilli that my mom made. :D~

The prawns were damn nice. We decided to deshell the prawns before putting it on the stone for convenience. We were all quite afraid of the sausages because the water that was inside the bubble between 2 connecting sausages kept threatening to explode and spill its hot content at us. :O

I watched Tron Legacy with my sec sch buddies at Cathay on Christmas's Eve. Had a super filling dinner at Aston as usual.

Overall it was rather nice but the ending was weird though. How could a virtual girl turn into human?

My initial plan for New Year's Eve was to get Kiat and I to be at Kong's house to play with the kitten and catch up but Kong can't as he had agreed to go Universal Studios with Kelvin for the celebration. Kelvin had complimentary tickets (via ballot) while I had to search high and low for a pair of tickets to go with Hong qi. I paid $35 per person for the ticket. -.-" After the entire event, it was good! I'm glad I paid (Hq too) for the ticket because it was such a blast! Much better than squeezing with throngs of people at the Marina Bay which was a complete bummer. Not only can we watch fireworks (albeit a toned down version as compared to the magnificent display at Marina Bay), we get to watch it with a satisfied tummy! The "free" ticket each had a complimentary meal and we chose to eat fried chicken at Goldilocks, which was done just right! Not too cold and not too hot. :)

My meal! My first time in years eating corn outside home. Gets stuck in my teeth often but it didn't this time round. Wouldn't want to get spotted with leftover corn plastered on my teeth!

Wait a minute, I thought Goldilocks dealt with porridge? Unhealthy Goldilocks. Who cares. Haha.

A mini roller coaster ride! The banner of GingerBread man damn cute. Haha. This is my first time riding a roller coaster in Singapore in years. We never thought they include rides like this in the package! We were screaming because we didn't expect to be on a roller coaster. It was like... You walk into a classroom, expecting to have lessons but you found everyone swimming in a mobile pool. Ok, lame analogy.

Year 2 Semester 1

My title is boring like hell I know. Hm, stayed up till 5.30am today (technically) to watch Despicable Me with my sis as I can't sleep due to the anxiety and the anticipation that began to sink into me. I suddenly woke up at around 8am to check my phone but it hadn't arrived. A minute or two later, I heard the vibration. Shit. I covered the screen with my palm and began to peek at each number within the sms.

CM2101 - B (Expected: B)
I really flunked this badly. I blanked out during the exam. 1st time it happened to me. :(

CM2102 - B (Expected: B+)
I thought I got the molecule correct?! The whole question was worth 20 marks! Sigh I think I know what was my achilles heel. Mass spectrometry was the culprit! I couldn't manage to do any of the question on that. :(

CM2111 - A (Expected: A-)
This came as a surprise and was my only saving grace. Thanks Dr. Sreeni! I'm glad I picked myself up (this paper was 2 days after my 1st, which was CM2101) and mugged really hard.

PC1326 - B (Expected: B+)
I have no luck when it comes to science gem. I really wanted to shout FUCK. I guessed I didn't do well for my term paper. Oh well. I hope I can break the "curse" for my biodiversity module next sem.

GEK1001 - B- (Expected: B-)
I totally regretted taking this module because this is a geography major's core module! I must be insane. Human and physical geography is never in my blood and this module was extremely time consuming. Had decided to S/U this freaking module.

So after exercising the S/U option, my cap is now 3.89. As compared to my last cap, which was 3.9, I dropped 0.01. Not too bad, but I'd wish I could do better (like always isn't it). I seem to be further and further away from my cap of 4. I need to achieve at least a cap of 4.3 for next sem! I can do it! GOGO! :D

Can't wait for tml! Gonna have stone cooking at stef's house. Mum helped to prepare her well-known (in the family) pork and I requested prawns (cos no one was bringing)! :D~

I sold my limegreen gameboy colour and wario 3 a couple of days ago to a pair of girls who arrived below my house in a cab for $60. The gameboy was my birthday present when I turned 12 and it had been with me for a decade and its still working! I'm such a good owner heh. I pondered for a while whether I should sell it but I have had no use for it and I believe it will be better off being cherished (I hope) by a new owner.

Met up with Lloyd and xy as they wanted to "walk" in town. When I entered 313, it was crowded and guessed what I saw. Shaca carolling! The familiar faces I saw were only Kok yong and Li ke. We went to lan in the cafe where Tian is working at. I was sitting near this kid who was screaming at the top of his voice while playing counterstrike. Damn dulan sia. Anyway we decided to go check out Irodori Japanese Restaurant which was located in River view Hotel at Havelock Road. It was quite a long walk from Clarke Quay mrt station.

We finally reached the restaurant.

Appetizer.

Sashimi! There were salmon, tuna, maguro, yellow tail and octopus! They were all very fresh. I think this is one of the best sashimi on freeflow for a buffet.

The nett cost of the buffet was $38.80 per person. I think it was quite worth it for me. Xy didn't really eat a lot of sashimi except salmon so I felt it wasn't that good of an experience for him. The restaurant could have done a little better on the desserts section. There weren't any desserts to choose from! >: (

When we were walking back to the mrt station, we came across a bunch of people flying motor controlled LED kite in the sky. Quite a peaceful sight.

It has been a long time, hasn't it?

Went to sing with my JC classmates at the 10 dollar club in Chinatown. Quite a lot of people turned up. We have Joycelyn, Wen yang, Kok yong, Qiu yan, Pristine, Edwin (from Joy's clique) and Jessica brought along 2 of her friends to join in the fun. Well I guess it wasn't really enjoyable for them because they were kinda quiet. I believe it was the unfamilarity between us and it's kinda hard to know someone in a noisy environment.

Dinner followed. We were all hungry and decided to just settle our meal at the roadstalls directly outside the KTV. The food was overly priced and tasted extraordinarily ordinary. Pity the foreigners. During dinner, I suggested watching Rapunzel and they gamely agreed. We trekked from Dhoby Ghaut to Bugis as Bugis GV was the only place near town that had seats for the 5 of us. Initially we went Dhoby Ghaut to try our luck at the GV in PS but it was completely filled. Damn.

Even though we missed the front 15 minutes of the show, but we caught on the storyline pretty fast (it's a disney movie afterall). The chameleon and the horse injected humour into the show. Rapunzel's hair glows golden when she sings and has healing powers. Funny.

Reached home pretty late and had a bath. Before I sat down in front of my mac, I sensed that the wind was rather strong and decided to take in the gust/breeze by my window. I totally shouldn't have done that because out of the blue, a strong gust of wind blew ash (from the incense pot) to my face while a part of the pot (the crown thing) got blown off and fell to ground level. o.o Had to wash my face and go down to pick that thing. zzz.

Lee chiu decided to organize an early birthday celebration for bing qin, citing that the NTU peeps will be having exams during her actual birthday and cannot afford time to celebrate. So the 4 of us, Ying siew, Bao xin, Lai yan and I met up at Lot 1 to pick out a cake and a balloon before setting off for NTU's ADM building. Lilian hopped onto bus 172 that we were on and we reached our destination not long after (actually it was rather long, due to the excessive wait for bus 199).

We scaled the never-ending flight of stairs to reach the top (almost) of the grass patch and waited for Shan shan and Lee chiu to lure the unsuspecting Bing qin to where we were.

Heard it was damn oily (the floor) and true enough, it can double as an ice-skating rink.

After that, we proceeded to Maxwell food market to finish the cake because the workers in the restaurant were already chasing us out. Next, Bing qin and a few of them decided to visit this club called Playclub (if I remember correctly). It's a club for people who are gay. Hmm, it was really an eye opener for me and I never really liked clubbing as well. So getting me to dance was like a chore. Bing qin kindly ferried all of us back. Thanks! :)

When I finally reached home and bathed, it was already 4.20am. Now I'm feeling super groggy and tired as well. I don't think my body can handle this late hour sleeping anymore.

Heard about this superb sashimi place from an aquaintance on facebook. He posted his sashimi photos online and I kinda chanced upon it. The amazing place is Fish Mart Sakuraya! Being an ardent fan of sashimi, I hesitated no further and organized a trip down with lloyd and stef. There were some communication problems and we ended up at Holland village. Luckily lloyd was able to ask his mom to drive us to Parkway Parade where the fish mart is. It's tucked quietly at one corner at basement 1! Upon entering, I realised they sell japanese dried food products, fresh fish imported from Japan and Norway (the lady behind the counter told me so) and a wide range of sake! We were peering into the glass to pick out the fishes that we want. Omg we were drooling like mad.

The pale beige one is the swordfish, the pale pink is the maguro while the orange is none other than Norway salmon! The quality and freshness is really on par with the one I had had at the Sydney Fish market! :D Perhaps we are too accustomed with the salmon already, so the three of us actually thought salmon is the best.

The salesperson told us that this fish is from Japan and it is sweeter and firmer than the salmon from Norway. After tasting it, we still preferred the Norway version! This was a tad too firm and not really much sweeter. Nonetheless, it was extremely fresh!

This was definitely the freshest I've tasted in Singapore. Firm bite and nice cut!

What's a Japanese meal without sake? :) We picked this one and it was refreshingly sweet.

Look at our contented faces! I will definitely visit this place again! Ain't sure for them. Lloyd said it was not bad. :/ Seriously, any fresher, you will have to fly to the Sydney Fish market.

Anyway, we patronized a KOI shop and this was what I saw.

I baked my first successful banana cake! Tried baking a day earlier but it didn't turn out nice and fluffy cos I used expired baking powder instead of fresh baking soda. There's a tremendous difference between baking powder and baking soda yet I dunno what it is. But anyway, I spent my afternoon baking instead of sleeping to recover from the Bukit Timah hill climb.

Strip the bananas.

Bash them up with no mercy. Add in melted butter and mix well.

Add an egg, sugar and a pinch of salt.

Add some vanilla essence.

Add flour in and mix the batter well.

Pour the batter into the cake mould.

Looks ready to go!

Last but not least, place the mould into the oven!

I brought some over for Kong and his mum to try. I think they found it nice, right?

So the four of us, me, Kong, Kiat and Hq decided to go eat some good food! Fortunately Kong was able to borrow the car from auntie so we can realise our food trip as the journey would be a physical torture should we take public transport.

Hq insisted we go Changi Food Village for dinner because he missed the food there (he once belonged to a camp that was near there). I decided to queue for the famous nasi lemak since we went all the way there!

We ordered 4 beancurd, 4 egg tarts and 4 fried dough fritters. Somehow, we seem to have voracious appetites. The beancurd's texture was extremely soft and nice. The egg tart had some sort of a custard filling that leaves us begging for more. The fried dough fritters was impressively soft to the bite. :)

We sent Kiat home and played with his mongrel dog. Super active and cute.

Really enjoyed the nite out with my buddies. Kong's driving is really steady. Haha. I think the fact that we know Kong and Kiat are leaving for Australia next month made us cherish the time spent together more. Ok, enough of depressing stuffs. Lol.

Kong and Kiat wanted to buy some textbooks for their uni studies so we were ferried by auntie (Kong's mum) to NUS Co-op. Kong's cousin (who is in the Fac of Med) came over to help him with the selection of books. So we had lunch at the nearby canteen.

People are naturally attracted to cameras! I didn't tell them to look at my camera.

Nice but the chicken dun look fresh to me. The chicken pieces is in the pot. Haha.

Although me and Kiat fell asleep a couple of times, but the movie was really picturesque. It was due to us not having enough sleep that caused our short slumber.

We had Pepper Lunch for dinner at Taka. A lady was giving out coupons outside the outlet and we found the deal to be rather economical.

Kong, Qi and I each ordered a set of Combo Cut Steak and Hamburger set. $14.50. Free salad, soup and a drink.

Welcome to the year of 2009! It certainly isn't a very good start with the financial uncertainty and turmoil. Anyway, I worked on New Year's eve till 10pm while I rushed home with Yi Fang on a cab to home while she heads to Yew Tee. Got a lift by my brother's friend to the bbq pit Hq booked. I didn't take much pictures though.

Had to buy water at 20cents at the carpark when there wasn't enough water. Good thing cos I can wash my feet as I ran across the field to find Hq which turned out they weren't at the other side of the field but adjacent to the field. Muddy feet for nothing.

Xiang ming was dead drunk by the time I reached. He did a lot of nonsensical stuffs. Never get drunk! I got drunk once but I fell asleep right next. I hope that's the case everytime. :)

Yesterday while I was collecting plates and near to the plate collection point, a soup bowl and a plate slipped right off my hand! My face was all cringed up when a loud "PREEE-ANK" boomed across the restaurant. The noisy murmur in the restaurant suddenly fell dead and a "whoh" could be distinctly heard. Damn paiseh. First time I broke something in such a "spectacular" way. I quickly cleared the debris and resumed my composure. :(

24th Dec-Christmas's eve

I worked in the kitchen from 8am-4pm and continued working at night as a waiter. There was this annual christmas feast at around 9pm. Didn't take much photos cos the mood wasn't there.

25th Dec-Christmas

Gathered at Bing Qin's hse. I was the first to reach her house at Teck Whye. More came and then we headed to Teck Whye market to have dinner. After that we slacked around, played taboo with Ying Siew, Shan Shan and Bao Xin. Thought I could win when teamed with Shan Shan but was proven wrong! Lol... Taboo is really a funny game. The rest played mahjong in the living room.

We went to Tian Shuo's house for a gathering! Mark was already there when we reached. But he left in a short while later and never came back. Lol. Didn't take much photo cos was busy playing mahjong with mainly, Marvin, Jeffrey and Corliss (Tian Shuo's gf)

Tian Shuo made this for Corliss a very long time ago and we found it funny/interesting while gross at the same time. Cotton turtles soaked in water! Haha.. but gross it may be, it's still sweet to the receiver. :)

We ordered KFC for dinner and amazingly, it was a filling meal. Lol. I left early (again!) as I was not feeling very well and had vocal lesson the next day. Just nice my family were passing by Orchard. Wished I could stay to ton further. Thanks for organising, Tian Shuo! Damn, I am beginning to miss army life. Its all these great buddies you befriend that make army seemed like a painless journey. :D

As the title suggests, I have finally completed my National Service and is now a free-man! It feels like I've just been exonerated. Okay, this sounds a bit on the extreme end. Wearing the smartest no.4 on my last day was the "stupid-est" decision I made because I have not washed it for a year since I wore it in Nov'07 for our first RSM parade. I felt damn itchy and hot for the entire day! Not forgetting the fact that we still need to collect more signatures for our clearance form by travelling around the camp.

conclusion:Never wear clothes that you have not washed for a year (or more). Sounds stupid rite, who would do it anyway.

No more:
1) Freaking cold showers in the night. (Can I make the appeal that making water heaters available is a basic necessity? :) )
2) Food that I find distasteful. Some people find the food asthetically pleasing and tastes marvelous. Right vahnbeo?
3) Bad-tempered SFI (Singapore Food Industries) uncles. Aunties are generally okay except for one! You guys should be able to guess who I am referring to. Haha. I think even the uncles "look" at ranks.
4) Short hair. I look ugly with long hair but I am annoyed by people who keep touching my head in a bid to show my hair is long.
5) Sleeping at the designated hour! (The nite is still young! I can last thru'!)
6) Exercise at the stipulated days of the week. I think this will make me grow fat but I dislike the regimentation involved even in exercising. Come on! Give us a break.
7) Sai-kangs/"arrows"/duties of all sorts.

I did not disclose anything I'm not supposed to and hence you can see I've used words like,"designated" and "stipulated". I'm so "kiasu" rite.

Now for the good points...
1) Cold showers does not pose a threat to me anymore. :)
2) I can survive through famine even in times of crisis where food are scarce and the food that is available tastes uncanny and weird.
3) I have learnt how to deal with people with a bad-temper. Oh really? Piss them off further. :)
4) To maintain my crop of hair so that I look presentable to the people around me.
5) My body can sleep late or early if I command it to. Isn't it wonderful?
6) Exercising with regimentation increases team spirit and trains your breath.
7) I have learnt to be optimistic even in times of crisis.

Honestly speaking, I love the camaraderie and team spirit when our company work together towards a certain goal. It just makes me feel that the effort we've put in is worthwhile afterall. Moreover, you get to know people of various backgrounds and learn how to work with each of them. Not only that, our superiors are understanding and does not give unreasonable tasks. I must say, it has really been an enjoyable time for me in 8 Signal Bn.

Mdm Jayne's wedding dinner

Sorry this post had to come so late. The wedding dinner was held at Marina Mandarin Hotel on 031108. We (army guys) reached there the earliest apart from the reception where we found our dear OC, Cpt Don sitting amidst 5 (or 4?) ladies. I heard it's Mdm Jayne's idea to put him there so as to intro the girls to him. Anyway, I made something for Mdm!

I saw it at my cousin's wedding and decided to do this for her. I printed this (almost A1 in size) and gave it to her.

What can a bunch of bored army guys do? Sounds kinky but NO. Photo-taking's the activity. :)

We ate quite a few of the samosas and sandwiches at the reception.

We are going to ORD this year (mine's later, literally)!!! Except Kenneth (1st row, 2nd from left) who gotta catch up!

You can't imagine what happened to us today at the cookhouse.

WE WERE BEING DENIED FOOD!!!

(ok, technically speaking it's the chicken drumstick only, but it was the highlight of the meal!)

Here's how it goes...

We were walking happily to the cookhouse, queued up for the SFI (Singapore Food Industries) uncles and aunties to give us our share (non-halal meal) for each dish and we were told there weren't enough drumsticks for us. Uncle A told us to go to the place where officers take their food from to get the drumsticks. And so we went.

Me: Uncle B, can we have the drumsticks?
Uncle B: You all go to the muslim side and get the drumsticks. ( To avoid confusion, he meant for us to go to the place where halal food is being served to get the chicken. )

Proceeded there...

Me: Auntie A, can we have the drumsticks?
Auntie A: What drumsticks?! Who tell you all come here one?
Me: Nor! The uncle there...He said not enough, asked us to try here.
Auntie A: No!!! That guy can say whatever he want, no chicken here.
Me: Can you all sort out your stuffs and not unleash ur anger on us? I'm gonna complain to Mr C! (cookhouse manager)
Auntie A: Good! Go complain.

Actually I just wanted to scare the auntie a bit. We all were quite pissed off by then and proceeded to Uncle B to tell him there's no chicken left there too. Uncle B didn't want to entertain us and mumbled some stuff, continued serving the officers. After the officers have taken their food (drumsticks included),

Uncle B: *quickly use the metal lid to cover the pot of drumsticks and looks elsewhere, acting oblivious to our presence.*
Me: Where is our chicken?
Uncle B: Who ask you all come so late for lunch?
Me: It's onli 12.50pm and you're blaming it on us?
Uncle B: I never blame you...*continues to mumble something to make himself feel less guilty*

And so we had to suffice with 50g of fish, some tasteless and dry french fries, dull-looking cauliflower and a bowl of rice for lunch. May be the uncle look down on lower-ranked people, that I'm not too sure. But what I am sure is, I didn't feel disappointed at all, because I didn't have any expectations of them to begin with. However, there are some really nice old folks working in the cookhouse.

Conclusion: A Hungry Man Is An Angry Man.

We went to draw blood at the Medical Centre in the afternoon because a blood sample is required for Medical FFI when you are going to ORD. The medic is really.. I dunno.. I think he kinda scared the shit out of me. Haha. He was a beginner and I was trying to remain calm when he poked me with the needle at the left arm.

EM (Experienced Medic): You see, remember to hold it like that, just now (The beginner drew blood from my friends previously.) you didn't hold it firmly, that's why like that. ( I have no idea what "like that" meant.)
BM (Beginner Medic): Ok ok. *wipes the place where he was going to draw my blood with alcohol swab*
BM: *pokes*
EM: You try pull the syringe.
BM: *pulls*
EM: Nothing right? That means you have to shift a bit to your right.
BM: *shifts*
EM: Your right lar!
BM: *shifts and pulls the syringe*
EM and BM: Ahhhh.. got blood liao!!!

Suddenly a lot of air bubbles appeared in the syringe and a distinctive *Pssst* sound was heard. The needle was out of my arm.

BM: *pokes the needle in again and pulls the syringe*

=.=" What a funny incident. BM can be pardoned since he's a beginner. Haha... Have to start from somewhere right? :)

Farewell Li yang!

Woke up at 6.30am yesterday as we are going to send Li yang off to New York. Was late to meet with David and Guan Zhong at JE, but realised only David was there and Guan Zhong decided to ask his father to send him to the airport because he woke up late. Vahnbeo and Marv didn't pick up their phone as the two of them overslept. =.="

Well, anyway, we reached the airport on time!

Me, David, Li yang, Guan zhong and Sherman plus the two cute nieces of Li Yang. Haha.

Mdm Jayne and Jeffrey came along a while later.

I dunno about the rest, but I personally felt kinda sad when Li yang's about to leave Singapore to fly to New York to further his studies. I guess it was the time we all spent together in camp that forged this great friendship. Haha, anyway, I wish you success in your phd studies and to have a smooth-sailing time there. Went home to sleep a little, after which I met up with kiat to go for class outing at Ding Tai Fung, Paragon, Orchard. We really spent quite a fair amount of time waiting for people. Maybe I shouldn't complain that much because I am a tardy person too. Haha, I ought to kick this bad habit. I am trying! I didn't take much photo because I didn't really have the mood to shoot that day. Most of the photos below weren't taken by me.

Ying Siew and me proceeded to join KSS peeps at Partyworld Liang Court. I never knew Liang Court is the one beside the bus stop I take whenever I went to a pub. Haha, therefore, I learnt something new today.

Ying Siew and me reached there kinda early so we began to sing some S.H.E and duet songs. Haha, actualli quite fun to sing S.H.E songs cause a lot of funny falsettoes involved. Lol.

We went to Penang Place restaurant for the commemoration of Li yang and Chia who are going to ORD (they ord today!) this friday. Next up will be US who are going to ORD!!! I still remember vividly from the moment we trudged from SI to 8 Signal Battalion with our luggages which were of extreme weight. Okay, back to the dinner at the restaurant where I once worked there as a waiter!

Liyang jio-ed me out as he wanted some opinions on stuffs that he wanted to buy before he flies to New York and we met at Orchard. Bought his shoes at Beetle Bug and we proceeded to Crumpler at Paragon and guess who I saw inside the outlet!

MR SIRAJ!!! He was like pondering very hard about which messenger bag to choose until I tapped his shoulders and greeted him. Haha, he still looks the same. And so I began to help him choose a suitable bag also.

He asked me if the red striped complete seed was okay. I said,"Huh, so bold!". He "tsk" and looked at other bags.

I told him the fux deluxe was okay but he said it was too big. I told him mabbie he should go for it as it suits his size and complete seed suits me better. He thought I was "suan-ing" him and I quickly added that Iezhi used fux deluxe also. Haha... He liked the colour but the bag was really too big for him.

Me: The price of the biggest bag is okay also...doesn't differ that much from complete seed, might as well buy the biggest one.
Mr Siraj: No no... $$ is not a problem <--- o.0 In the end, we settled on the red one after he asked me again how come I said that's bold and was mean to say that.. LOL... He said bold can be bad or good... I immediately reassured him bold good, bold good. Haha. Liyang bought this. So we went to Sakae to eat the tea-time buffet which lasted till 6pm at 5.15pm. As we were informed that last orders are at 5.30pm, we felt anxious and ordered a super large amount of food.

Having completed the Army Half Marathon (21km) this morning, I felt glad yet kinda disappointed at the same time. Finishing this marathon was the reason why I felt glad as this was the longest distance I've ever ran. While I felt disappointed because of my timing! 2hr and 6minutes isn't very glorifying at all and I thought I could complete it within 2hrs.

Basically I ran throughout the marathon alone because my pace was rather slow. Haha... I ate the powergel at the 20km mark, after which I tried to sprint towards the ending point. Sadly, the moment I gained speed, my left calf threatened to go into a severe cramp, something which I experienced a few years ago when I was swimming vigorously when I had that same cramp in the middle of the pool. That was terrible and I had to calm myself down and waddle to the poolside. Back to the run, I slowed down to my starting pace. Lol.

And you know what?! An auntie ran at the same pace as me! Never underestimate them! They are well-trained from:
1: Rushing from one mrt train to the one heading to CCK at Jurong East so that they can get the best seats.
2: Rushing for the best bargains and discounts such that they are well-versed in the arts of elbowing people.

What's wrong?

Time really flies and in abt 2 months' time, I will ORD! My brain is about to explode with excitement as this NS chapter of my life is about to close and a refreshing journey awaits for me upfront. I really have no idea what I should do. I will definitely slack for a few weeks to enjoy the freedom that permeates through every pore on my body. After that, I have some options ahead of me.

To:
1) be a relief teacher hopefully at Kranji Secondary School because that's the place where I have had many wonderful moments as a student. I can visit my ex-teachers somemore!

2) be a waiter at some restaurant. However, I've been one during both of my holidays in JC and maybe I should try something new. Moreover, it's quite tiring to keep collecting plates and wiping the tables.

3) be an officeboy at some corporate companies. (Not really keen on this idea though.)

4) continue rotting at home for 9 months before I get admitted into NUS. (What an amazing idea!)

And option 4 is definitely out. Haha.. I think I will opt for 1.

I saw this recently and I think this is quite chio!

Some people might not agree totally but I personally, find it rather chio.

My brother requested my father to sign 2 more years to my phone plan so that my brother can get a new phone to replace his phone that was stolen. So I think it's fair if he offers to use his plan (hopefully it ends in a few months' time so that the arrival of the new phone will coincide with my ORD date) to get me this phone. Imagine how fucking pissed I was when he didn't inform me at all when he used my phone plan to get a new phone w/o consulting me first. To think I was still contemplating the idea of getting a new phone, totally oblivious to what was going on throughout the whole incident.

Remember the opening of the Beijing Olympics 2008 ceremony? I'm sure you all know the girl, Lin Miaoke singing on stage is only lip-syncing to the song! The original singer, Yang Peiyi, was deemed to be unsuitable for stage due to having buck teeth. OMG la... Whoever made that decision ought to be awarded 1000000000 Da Pan. Da Pan la, you know those wooden oars-like thingy?

I can't believe it la. Peiyi is cute also lor! Can you imagine the amount of psychological damage done to her fragile and young mind? Just because of her teeth and you axed her. Adding on, the organisers are giving Miaoke the wrong impression that having good looks is your passport to various other opportunities not available to people condemned as being ugly. Nevermind Peiyi! Go for braces and you'll shine like a star. :D

This episode reminds me of one incident that happened in my primary school. There was this skit competition in primary 5 and each class had to participate. My form teacher, Mrs Wong, who always win 1st prize for the class that she in charge in, was very hyped up that year and wanted us to win 1st prize.

After I had rehearsed multiple times and days for my role, Mrs Wong asked infront of the whole class whether A, can take over my role as he had nothing to act in. Felt outcasted, I agreed while putting up a bravefront to show I wasn't affected by that and I should give the role to him. I always thought Mrs Wong favoured A more. In the end, I was given the role of the music player (yeah, go ahead and laugh. Haha.) where I was supposed to play different music at the backstage loudly (so everyone in the hall can hear) to suit the mood of the skit.

In the end, the role that I had given up was axed by Mrs Wong as she deemed it unnecessary and A could not act. The competition date arrived. I was fiddling with the music player behind the curtains while they acted. Suddenly, Mrs Wong dashed in and took over the music player from me, stating that she do not trust me to do the job well. Alarmed, I stood by and watched her manning the player quietly. In the end, she played the wrong type of music and mumbled some stuffs and left while I kept the player. Even so, we won 1st.

Back in class, when she was distributing the presents to the kids who participated in the skit, she asked me if she could give the present (It was a story book.) to A, as I did nothing at all for the skit. I agreed, feeling somewhat dejected, not because of the present, but the treatment I got from her.

Centre of the Earth, anyone?

Went for my vocal lesson as usual. Finally we graduated from beginner's and now we're in intermediate. So now we are focusing on falsettoes and stuffs. Yup, my falsettoes not very strong and now we're practising using falsettoes on low keys. My weakest point: sudden transition from a higher low key to a super low key falsettoes. Sometimes will go off key which is damn irritating. Must practise more!

Met up with Kong to go shop around. Been ages since I've spent a single cent on an apparel after burning a hole in my bank account on my mac. Not saying I'm loaded now, but can at least spend a little. Bought a 3/4 (1/2 actually) pants (vahnbeo keeps harping on the fact that I always wear that same white 3/4 pants which is kinda like a housefly that you want to zap with the trusty zapper, kidding.), a long sleeve t-shirt and a pair of slippers. Convinced Kong to eat at Seah Im food centre which is just a stone's throw away from Vivo.

Kong and his ban mian. I realised something quite long ago, and I think Kong also agrees that you can never go wrong eating ban mian outside cos ban mian tastes generally the same everywhere, unless you are really unlucky to get a lousy cook who screws up the most simple dish to prepare-ban mian. One perfect example is the ban mian stall at Ten Mile Junction (who goes there anyway, except aunties going to Sheng Siong to purchase groceries?!?!) which is really.... really kanasai.

The prawn noodle is fine except the pieces of squid which were not chewy at all.

We went to watch "Journey to the Centre of the Earth"! I was telling Kong I like to watch trashy but exciting shows like the one above, where you can just sit back and relax and take in everything the movie narrates to you. Wait! That doesn't mean I'm brainless. But I think watching a movie is supposed to make you feel more relaxed, not one that is so intellectually stimulating like "The Constantine", which ended up me asking more questions to my friends than a comprehension test can ask you.

Some parts of the movie are kinda impossible to achieve, but nevertheless, it was no doubt funny and an exciting movie. No point rating this movie cause to me, it's like a roller coaster ride. :)

My first concert!

This F.I.R World Tour 2008 was the first concert I've ever attended! Woots! It was held on 080808, auspicious eh? :) Went with Qi and Kong...

I kept snapping photos and tried to record the way F.I.R made their debut appearance on stage but was promptly (okay, not realli, it was more of like 30sec later) stopped. I think F.I.R were kind enough to allow cameras into their concert! Somemore the camera Hq brought was a DSLR, super huge which I thought could act as a decoy so that my smaller canon 860IS could be smuggled in instead. But no! The bouncers (they were ladies) were more interested in denying entry to people who had water bottles with them. Kong and me ended up at the nearby 7-11 store to buy small gulps (no big gulps were available!). Damn, I was telling Kong we should have filled our Carl's jr cups and brought it to the concert because we can only bring drinks in cup-form. Kong replied may be they only allowed 7-11 drinks in. Hm...

Went to send Johnny off to Aussie for his overseas studies. We (me, David, Jeremy and his gf, Jillene) had trouble locating where Liyang (with his car) was! Ended up delaying for over 30minutes trying to find each other. Found him finally and set off for the airport immediately.

Special thanks to Liyang for ferrying us home! Reached home at around 2+am and had to report to camp on Saturday for some duty at 7am. Did the duty and left early at 9pm so I can join the AHM training at East Coast Park at 7am on Sunday. Met up with Cheng Aik at Causeway Point at 6.30am to pick me up. 18km!

All in all, this week really drained quite a fair bit of my energy. Thus resulting in me becoming kinda impatient and irritable. :( Anyway, let me get my sleep so I can FINALLY watch F.I.R perform live at the Singapore Indoor Stadium! Woots! XD

Went out with Ying Siew, Kok Weng, Shan Shan and Shi Xian. Actual plan was to go ECP to cycle, but in the end, we landed at Kbox at Kallang Leisure park! Wanted ice-skate but we were all decked out in beach suits (aka short pants and shirt) hence had to scrape the idea. Haha. Bing Qin came to join us a while.

Langer came to join us at Popeyes. I still prefer KFC! The biscuit (Popeyes claimed) was more of like salty dough! Damn that bun, muffin, dough, biscuit or whatever it is. I can't believe my ears when Wen Yang and Kong told me they find it nice. The chicken is rather dry, a little on the salty side and not really as fragrant as KFC's... Somemore you know what?

Me: Hello, can change my chicken wing to chicken breast meat pls? *watery-eyed + pearly white smile combo*
Lady: Sorry you have to pay 50 cents more if we were to change for you.
Me: Damn you. (Okay, I didn't sae that and never attempted that combo thingy at all, haha.)

KFC, we all love you! I promise to patronise KFC and never to step into any Popeyes outlets every again. :)

We sat around in a circle after the dinner at some newly-built mini outdoor theatre and played asshole dai-dee. I was rarely "king" and became"prostitute" for a lot of times. :( Haha... Together with Ying Siew, Langer and Shi Xian, we shared a cab home after deciding it was more "hua" since it's 11.30pm and last train might be gone. We met a super funny uncle on board. Some of the jokes he made... I can't possibly post them here. :)

I am damn impressed can. The uncle realli quite knowledgeable. Even before this, he was telling us about what programmes there were that night. Zouk la... Singapore Art Museum having a free entry till 2am la... a lot a lot! The uncle can go apply to be part time tour guide liao. Perfect combo! He can ferry tourists and introduce Singapore to them at the same time. I think the Singapore Tourism Board could implement something like that. Value-add our taxi drivers! Of coz I think they must pass some "tests" first before being qualified. Hehe. Obnoxious and rude taxi drivers are out of the question.

Went to catch The Dark Knight aka Batman with Hq.

The movie was not bad, although I didn't really predict a twist in movies involving superheroes (gadget-hero actually) but it worked out fine. The part where the fake batman hanging on a rope banged onto the glass wall jolted me. LOL. The super mobile motorcycle (yeah, the one with huge wheels) emerged out of the original mobile which was badly damaged didn't look that cool to me. Had no idea why. I don't remember seeing batman use his famous bat-shaped shurikens. The way batman fell flat onto a car's top with Maggie Gyllenhaal in his arms was way too uncool either. LOL. 3.7/5.

We then played Werewolves (it's a card game) and a small quarrel arose. Chia was the little girl, which means he could secretly open his eyes at night to see who are the wolves while the wolves choose their prey, and when day come and everyone "wakes" up, Chia told everyone that Jeremy was one of the wolves he can confirmed and he ruled me out of the possibility that I was one of the wolves. I was grinning inside la, cos I am the other wolf. Then Guan zhong got so pissed off that he was chosen to be "executed" but not me (only left 5 people, the rest were either "killed" or "executed". By right Jeremy not supposed to die one, cos we chose to kill Ivan and it so happened that Ivan and Chia were made a couple by Cupid, so when Ivan dies, Chia had to die too. But mdm forgot to "kill" chia by taking away his character card so that he was out of the game and Chia blabbered out all the stuffs he saw. Haha. Nvm la, game only la guys! :D

13th July - President Garden Reception

We are to register the hundreds of guests invited to Istana. My location to register guests was at UE square. Unfortunately, my SPE (singing practical evaluation test) was on that day too. After setting up the registration counter and stuffs, it was 2.30pm and I popped the question to Maj Charmaine as to whether I could go off for a while and come back before 3.30pm where 4pm is the time guests start to come in for registration. Amazingly, she agreed w/o hesitating! Goodness, I rushed down for the test, sang my song and left promptly. Haha, hope the rest of my classmates sang well. :)

Went back to UE square and went to the toilet with kenneth to change into our penguin suit. The most digusting thing happened to my poor mobile phone. While I was changing, the phone dropped and slid... and landed just nice, on top of many drops of urine that was accidentally dripped by some people who were previously urinating at the standing urinal. Gosh.

And now my phone can't work, trying to jolt it alive so I can at least copy my contacts into the SIM card.

Update: Yay, my phone just got resurrected and I am not sure when it'll die again. Jeremy promised to lend mi his 8310 (my dream phone while I was still in sec sch!!!)!!! Yay. :D

Some RSAF guy forgot to bring along a tie and I lend him mine. It was pretty amazing that the tie fit the overall uniform cos it was a slim tie I bought at Topman. Lol. At first Maj Charmaine offered to pay for the tie, but I returned the money to her after the guy said that he'll return my tie. So I msged him my address.

So we all (10 "lucky" ones) were tasked to deliver the stores back to Stagmont. Settled everything (hopefully?) and it was already 9 plus when we set off for dinner at Teck Whye.

Grr... Went to buy accessories for my MBP just now... So sian, that's why I always think buying something beautiful has it's pros and cons. You have to burn a hole in ur pocket just to buy stuffs to protect it from harm. Haha...

Without this, I am literally being in a sauna with my MBP being the heat source! I'm not kidding. I actually feel quite a bit of pain when I touched the underneath of my notebook and I think I can cook an egg there. But after using this, my MBP really cooled down quite a fair bit. Somemore it's silver in colour which matches my MBP. :) Costs: $67.90

I had to settle for this cheap looking screen protector! The 3M one which promises privacy for users was damn expensive. $99 dollars leh! This screen protector probably will stay on until I find a better reason to convince myself to buy the privacy filter by 3M. Costs: $24

I bought this without being showed the contents. This one is after I've opened it. Wenyang told me Moshi's stuffs are usually of good quality and so I trusted him and I like the colour so much! It's silver (not again!) and totally goes with my MBP. Haha. Not cheap for a palm rest guard and track pad guard. Costs: $34.

Firstly, I would like to thank Jeremy for giving me 林宥嘉-《神秘嘉宾》 for my birthday present! Didn't expect him to give me any present, somemore he bought it from Taiwan when he was there on a trip. :D

Would like to thank my sis for buying me this super funky-licious laptop bag to go with my MBP. Although Kong helped me buy it first cos he had a 10% discount using his UOB card. :D

This salesperson working at IMM Starhub (let's call him A) called me a few days ago to ask me to go collect a SIM card from him at his outlet.

A: Is this Mr Neo?
Me: Yes.
A: I would like to inform you that the SIM card we provided you is wrong and could you come down to our outlet to collect the right one?
Me: What do you mean it's wrong? Btw, I kinda lost it.
A: Erm, *goes on to explain some 3G and 2G stuffs*. Nevermind if you lost it, just come down and collect the right one.
Me: But why should I be responsible for you giving me the wrong SIM card? Could you make an arrangement to deliver it to my house?
A: It's out of goodwill that we inform you the SIM card is wrong (YES, he said that). There's no such service as delivery.
Me: Then maybe you should do some feedback regarding delivery service.
A: Okayyyy...so you will come down this weekend to collect?
Me: Yes.

After a while, thinking abt it, I was quite pissed. Decided to call Starhub at 1633. This person by the name of Ethan served me.

Ethan: Hi, this is Ethan, how may I help?
Me: *goes on to explain A giving me a disatisfactory service* Is there such thing as a delivery service of SIM card? I mean, why should I be held responsible? They are creating a lot of inconvenience by asking me to go down to collect. I clearly remembered he said it's out of goodwill that he told me he gave me the wrong SIM card. What kind of service is this?
Ethan: Mr Neo, usually we don't deliver SIM card as if they get lost before reaching you, a lot of trouble will arise.
Me: I see...
Ethan: But I will drop a mail regarding why they still need to issue you a new SIM card as you can continue to use the one you are using.
Me: Okay, thank you.

The next day, A (I assume he is A cos he sounded like him) called back.

A: Hello, is this Mr Neo?
Me: Yes.
A: Okay, Mr Neo, regarding the SIM card right, we need to give you a new one because *goes on to explain a barrage of stuffs* What time is it convenient for us to deliver the SIM card to your house?
Me: *grins* 6pm-10pm today would be suitable.
A: Okay, thank you Mr Neo.
Me: Thank you.

Hahahahaha. Don't think just because my father signed the plan for me thus you can give me such a lousy service. I think the phonecall to 1633 worked marvelously. :)

Let me recall who went... Li yang, Vahnbeo, Jian Feng, Kenneth, Jonny, Marvin and his gf, Tian Shuo and his gf, David, Guan Zhong and Jeffrey. Now that's quite a lot. No wonder we moved in 2 different teams. Kinda squeezy inside the fair.

No. 1 lesson learnt: Never wear slippers when you're intending to visit crowded places.
My poor feet was stepped on by countless people, including a child! Wearing shoes is a better choice.

Haha, I think my greatest achievement is helping Marvin get the free trolley. The person claim only those who purchase a screen of size 22" and above and get it and we can't as the screen Marv bought is 19" only.

Ahhhh! Haben receive the "Store Order Shipment Notification email" from Apple yet. I tot it is immediately?! Oh yah, bought the Macbook Pro and it comes with a free Ipod Touch! Woots! Going to sell it off and I'll be buying the MBP for 2.3k effectively! :D

I went for their autograph session once and Faye looked and waved at me ( I was standing at the 1st row) !!! :D Somemore they requested fans to stay behind so they could take a photo with us with we wished. Although I remembered vividly Hq and Ck pulled me away cos they had to go home and we had no camera. Boo. Anyway, who wants to go watch them rock?! WOOHOO...

Sian. Doing duty in camp now, not guard duty but something else. Just finished my upsized doublecheese burger meal plus green tea mcflurry. Damn full now. The lame delivery man called me to say he reach the gate already but no one was there when I turned up. Think he was quite pissed with the people who are late to collect the food. I can't believe what I did just now. Cleaning up a huge pile of cat dung. Yes, it was friggin smelly and I strongly believe the size of the dung is on par with that from a human being. Grrr, now I know why the cat was meowing so frequently yesterday nite, perhaps she was hinting us that she needa explode. Haha... The kittens damn cute la. They are growing at such an accelerated rate, I think they will be reaching adult stage soon enough. Really hope they can get responsible owners to care for them. Been sourcing for them lately but to no avail.

I was in the MRT on Sunday and I was leaning against the glass panel beside the door. There's always a metal grip pole by the glass panel rite? There's this balding guy in his forties who practically had half of his body leaning on the pole, sharing the glass panel with me. WTF?! I felt awkward and tried to elbow my arm so he could get the hint. BUT HE DIDN'T! I couldn't take it anymore and said,"Can you not lean so near?". He gave me this super innocent look and backed off with his hand holding on to the bar. -.-"

Actually I think my blog title is rather boring! Argh.. haben been updating lately. We went to chill at Brewerkz and Cafe Iguana again. I think pubs are much better than clubs. You all should try the beer at Brewerkz, its has a unique taste and we all love the margeritas from Cafe Iguana. The former being recommended by Li Yang and the latter by Chris. :)

Met up with Hq and Kong after my vocal lesson. Proceeded to Sushi Tei for dinner! The experience was not bad, except that I think the service wasn't very good. Okay, rather contradictory.

Was the guard 2 for that past Saturday and papa delivered the Krispy Kreme doughnuts sister bought from Korea for me to eat! Woots, damn sweet but nice. Ate 2 and gave the last one to Jian Feng who was still in camp. Imagine the shock we had when the whole box was full of ants. -.-" Btw, how come there isn't any Krispy Kreme outlet in Singapore?

Thanks to the uncle and auntie at Officer's Mess for giving me and the sentry guard 2 bottles of vitagen! Fantastic la, esp that day was a hot one. :)

Went to vocal lesson looking like a zombie cos I didn't sleep at all for the previous nite.

Went to watch Ironman at AMK hub with Hq. The movie is fantastic! I would give it a 4.5/5. I also dunno where the 0.5 went, mabbie I don't give full marks for a review of a movie. Haha. Oh yah, and Gwyneth Paltrow is very chio. :)

And I finally bought a watch for myself! Haben been wearing one since sec 2, not counting the cheapo watch I wear during NS la...

We went to eat Tian Tian Huo Guo yesterday. Actually that wasn't our destination but we had to settle for this one cos the other steamboat restaurants were brimming of people. Apparently we still remember the lady who was in the advert for Tian Tian Huo Guo.

That place really sucked quite a little. The person showed us the backdoor at the alley claiming that we will be given the VIP seats since we had 8 people. Fine, I thought. But it turned out to be a place full of other people as well. -.-

As much as I would generally like to give positive comments on restaurants that I've visited, this one terribly don't deserve my attention. 1/5. Thank you. I forgot to comment on the drink they provided. It's diluted iced lemon tea with an uncanny taste. The total cost for each person is $27.

Chris told us it is always full of people, and unfortunately, it was true.

WTF?! And the shop assistant almost blew her anger when there were a lot of customers trying to ask her for seats. She looked damn irritated and could break down any moment.

Boiled milk with papaya! Hot favorite among girls. Dun ask me why I tried it or whether did it worked ornot... I just wanted to try something new. Haha.

Favourite Chocolate Chip Cookies

Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself toward the table, landing on his knees in a rumpled posture. His parched lips parted; the wondrous taste of the cookie was already in his mouth; seemingly bringing him back to life. The aged and withered hand, shakingly made its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when it was suddenly smacked with a spatula by his wife.

"Stay out of those," she said, "they're for the funeral."

Lol. Poor old man. Okay, side-tracked a bit, I've found the ultimate way (well, at least for me) to conquer standing-broad jump! We were helping out with Ippt for the regulars last week and we were trying to jump to our gold target (>234cm) using different methods but to no avail. Suddenly, I did another way and jumped 242cm! OMG. My old method (the swing-ing one) allow me to jump 225cm onli. Wahahaha. XD

Now my left ankle hurts like fuck. I don't know why, mabbie it's because I went for this foot massage thingy after getting a haircut last sunday. Hmm. Hope it heals soon

Went for my dental appt at Railway mall from camp yest and reached there at abt 2.30pm when my appt is 3pm. Heck, I slept till 5 plus before it's my turn to see the dentist. And you know what happened? There was this plump middle-aged guy with his wife sitting opposite me. I was snoozing...

Me: *stunned* Oh er... 2hrs? It's usually like that one la. *a weak grin plastered across my face*

Have you even contemplated the idea of kicking someone's feet when the person is asleep just for him/her to answer your question (except in a classroom la)?! I didn't know why I smiled. I guess it's because I'm wearing the army uniform. Didn't want to project a ugly image bah.

And I bought some food to eat before I went to sleep in the clinic. I was terribly scammed! I was totally attracted to this yummy-licious looking box of green tea mochi in Cold Storage and I bought it. Much to my horror (very compo hor?), even after waiting for it to defrost, it's damn fucking hard. I'm not kiddin.

The fragility of life

Time really flies, my 4th aunt had passed away peacefully, the wake ended and the cremation took place. I will never forget that night (28/03/08) when the five of us, Mum, Me, Brother, Enli, Li Hong and Bonia (domestic helper) were sitting beside my aunt, holding her icy hands and seeing how the little attempts to clear her airway of phlegm constantly. It was simply heart-wrenching.

My brother came into this room (the hospital staff were nice enough to open this staff room for us to rest) next door to wake me and Li Hong (cousin) up saying 4th aunt is leaving.

Brother: Yi Ma Kuai Bu Xing liao...

Those few words resounded in my empty head till now. At least we were there to accompany the last few moments of my aunt in the mortal world. Looking at the heart-beat measuring machine, aunt's heartbeat went weaker and weaker by the minute, till there wasn't response anymore.

Thank you, 4th aunt, for touching everyone in your life. You will continue to live in our hearts. :)

1st visit to a church

Went to a church for the first time in my life today because my brother is going to be baptised. It was quite a new experience, considering the fact that many people are singing christian songs rather energetically and loud together.

When we were seated, a lady came to give us some paper to write our names and contacts down. Was a bit reluctant to write (I'm a free-thinker btw) but gave in after my sister mentioned it's just for the procedure since we came to this church. But a few minutes later...

Finally have my own digital camera liao. Went with kong to buy. Canon digital IXUS 860. Spent $500+ sia... Didn't regret buying it cos I've already missed many photo-taking opportunities and I dun wish to miss anymore opportunities! Kinda troublesome when you have to bug people to send you the photos. Now my blog will be full of pictures once again. :D

Bot a small crumpler to put my camera. Lol. Saw this very familiar person at crumpler outlet at Wheelock and found out that he's from Kranji Sec. I think he's from St John's. That means he's my ex-senior! Didn't ask for discount though cos the bag costs only $23. Speaking about St John, I kinda regretted joining it. Actually it's not really nice to make that sentence, but I feel that I it would be more fulfilling if I joined the symphonic band instead. Okay, my discussion ends here. :)

Calling It Quits.

Did guard duty on Saturdae. Realli is du ri ru nian. Nothing much happened though, thank goodness. Had to skip Bq's invitation to Sentosa and the audition for the PK thingy although I don't think I will join. Went home straight after doing duty and was told that my 2nd aunt and family (living in Muar) were going to pop by to visit my 4th aunt who is ailing. Went for my vocal class and headed straight to the NUH to see my aunt. It's really heartbreaking to see her like that. She's extremely thin and pale and my mum has already prepared the necessary stuffs should my aunt pass away. Imagine when my aunt start to tell you she keep seeing strange person lurking near her when you couldn't see which person she was talking about cos there's no one there... Can see 4th aunt can't realli bear to see us go off.

Went to Owen seafood at Turf City for dinner after that. A treat by cousins (1st aunt's children). Seafood meal for 11=$388+ if I am not wrong. Damn expensive. But quite tasty though, especially the Sri Lankan crab fried with salted eggs. Yum. Went back home and fell asleep in the car. Haben had a good sleep for more than 36 hrs already.

Feeling very hot now, drank only one mug of beer leh. Got battalion cohesion day todae. Quite funny for the games. Forced RSM to play the Charade as I'm the group leader. Hahaha.

Thinking of buying my own laptop. Got a lot of reasons la. But I think it's pointless to buy it now, cos out of 7 days a week, I'm onli at home for 2 days. Den battery life goes down as time pass by mah, so I think it's a bit wasteful. I'm thinking of buying the Dell laptop. One with at 2.4Ghz processor and at least 3gb RAM and nVidia graphic card! :D

Yesterdae was our company outing. Met up with most of the guys at City Hall mrt at 10am to go Marina Square to bowl. Dunno if we go there to cam-whore or play bowling! LOL. But it was damn fun I would say.

Have been dabbling with Photoshop for days and I realised that I have been addicted to it! Omg. Have been downloading the free brushes etc to test out. Damn nice. Look at my first creation! A wallpaper inspired by Deathnote.

I did everything from scratch, although it's extremely easy to make this. How? Quite nice I think. Oh well, if you find it ugly, I'll try to improve on my skills and hope to be better at Photoshop. I was like quite taken aback when my parents told me my sis wanted a laptop when I was having breakfast on Saturday cos I have been contemplating for a laptop for the past few weeks. But I came to a conclusion-No $$$= No laptop. So I'm going to try to save up for my own although I haben decide on the brand and model yet. Guess the price would be around $2000-$3000.

Ahhhh, I'm damn tired now. Haben been sleeping well these few days. Shall retire and dive straight in to dreamland so I can wake up at 8am tml and go for coy cohesion outing. Aquamarine buffet, here I come!!! :D~~

Met up with Chris, Jonny, Sgt Jeremy and Kenneth to go to the NATAS fair. $3 for entrance fees! Rip-off sia. There's nothing much inside. Just a flock of Singaporeans waiting to be conned. Aiya, actualli it's not that bad, just that we can't find anything we want. So we decided to book online ourselves for the hotel and the air tics. Went to Jonny house after that and Jonny dished out some Chawan Mushi for us to try. Fucking nice can, glad I got the recipe from his mum. But the ingredients damn special! Like you can only find them in Cold Storage, not NTUC which is more common to commoners like me.

Jonny drove us to Geylang to makan! Saw a few prostitutes and transvestites. Omg, you can't imagine what he was blabbering thru-out the journey. Quite explicit henceforth I shan't say it here. Ask me personally if you want. Haha.

We tried the frog congee at Lorong 3. Very delicious! (Sorry there are not photos, cos I didn't bring it along). The meat is very smooth and juicy. Hmm...

It was already 2+ am... And nice Jonny decide to drive us all back to our abodes! How freaking nice can he get! I mean, he live at East Coast, then drive us to Geylang, den Admiralty, den CCK den Bukit Batok and back to East Coast. Sangkew Jonny! :D

Saturday came! Hq and Kong asked me out for movie but I declined due to the sore body but I suggested we have dinner together! Man... It's been long since we had a dinner together. We went to Waraku Pasta at Marina Square. Sorry no photos again cos my sis brought the cam overseas and Kong couldn't locate his camera.

What can I say abt the food? IT'S DAMN NICE. Go try it one day. We each ordered a main course for ourselves and we shared a pizza (very flat one, but nice). The food there is definitely affordable.

Oh yah! We three were in outfits of the same colour. Black top and blue jeans. Damn funny. LOL.

Went to accompany Kong to buy his specs. We settled for a one by Guess. Hm, very nice I would say. Haha. :) Den went for my vocal class with Wen yang joining me for the first time. Quite fun sia, learning with someone you know.

The movie was really nice although it had no links from Deathnote. We all think the 5 sec Misa scene was cut from the original movie. Well, they had to cos they needed to link to the original movie. 4.2/5 for the movie! :)

Next up, we went to the pub Chris recommended. He opened 2 Martell! Omg. Costs $144 each. Dun blame me la, I veri sua gu de cos I don't have the habit of going to pubs. Haha. Played Dices and etc. Quite fun though. I didn't drink that much but only green tea. Didn't want to drink cos I have vocal lesson on the next day... Sorry Chris! My steel-hardness determination pro right. :P

Went to watch that movie with Hq after we found ourselves too bored one fine day. I'm actually not very inclined to watch Jack Neo's productions cos we all have eyes to see and ears to hear, you know what I mean. So after much persuasion, I relented and gave Jack Neo a chance.

It didn't turn out that bad leh! Was actually laughing thru-out the show, guess Mark Lee is an expert in that kinda feminine role. One thing which I found eerie was the part where the tomboy gal suddenly had long hair. Look like Sadoko can.

Valentine's day slipped by yesterday.. Like I was telling Hq,"I already spent 19years of Valentine's day alone, spending one more alone is okay de". But that only applies to me cos I think I forgot how it feels like to like someone. So sad! No la, being single is good too. :)

My phone plan is going to expire in abt 6 days to reach the 21th month! Dunno whether if I should wait for the plan to totally expire in May so I can switch to a better service provider and by this I mean Starhub's reception is fucking lousy. I repeat, fucking lousy. 1st incident:

Nearly got murdered on the street below my house yesterday as I was walking across the road when the green lights are ON. Damn pissed with the driver, fuck him. The driver was on the opposite direction of the road and wanted to turn to his right to enter the road which was on my left (as I'm still walking on the road). Okay, veri confusing huh. He suddenly accelerate after noticing there weren't any cars travelling in the same direction as me. I was literally stunned as he jammed his brakes after he saw me. His car was barely 40cm away. Such reckless and irresponsible driving. Where were you rushing to? Hell?

2nd incident:

As Hong Qi and I were crossing the road at Bugis when the green lights are ON, this fucking yellow bus beside us was moving and trying to bang onto us!!! People around us were like stunned and I back-tracked to let the bus past by us slowly (abt 10km/hr). Until I whacked its door glass and guess what? THE BASTARD DRIVER WAS CONVERSING AWAY HAPPILY ON HIS PHONE WITH HIS HEAD FACING DOWN SUPPORTED BY HIS ARM ON THE STEERING WHEEL. He was jolted from his convo and quickly did an apologizing gesture to the random people in front of him which he could have murdered.

Went to watch The Mist with Hong Qi. I'll give it a 3.1/5.

A lot of wierd scenes. The plot development was rather slow and everything was in a mist and was quite irritating. The ending was sucky as the male lead killed all his people (his child, a woman and an old couple) on board after they wanted it as they thought the world was full of huge creatures but 2secs later, the military people and tanks arrived and saved all the people!!! All the mist that had been plagueing the entire show had miraculously disappeared! -.-

Shopping Spree!

Chris suddenly mentioned about going to Johor to shop in camp one fine day and some of us were quite eager to go. Called my mum to ask if I could go, but she was rather unwilling. However, my father embraced the idea and sounded quite interested for me to go with my ns peeps. So, in the end, Chris, Jeffery, Guan Zhong, Jian Feng and me are going.

Ahhh.. I wan a camera of my own plssss. So hard to blog w/o pictures, the pictures now with xian ming but he not online and I wonder when he'll be. We had our 05S01 class gathering at xian ming's house on last Saturday where only around 20/28 peeps turned up. So little! Kudos to the auntie who gave me the WRONG direction to xian ming's condo that I turned up at "the quintet" instead of "yew mei green". I can still vividly imagine the confident look she had while she attempts to instruct me on the "right" way. Walked until both my feet had a blister each. The wrong condo which I went to was also stupid one lor, it had no name or whatsoever on it! Until I saw someone going into the side gate.

-After calling Xian Ming to inform him that I've arrived at the side gate and I waited for abt 20 min and by that time, my bladder is about to burst can- (I'm serious)

Me: Excuse me, may I know the name of your condo?
Lady: Oh, it's "The quintet"

Finally reached the actual condo after I jumped into a cab. I wanted to make blueberry muffins for the potluck but I just didn't have the mood to bake, so I bought a pandan cake from Bengawan Solo at Lot one as a substitute. Wanted to give Prima Deli a chance especially after the salmonella incident but their cake really cannot make it. Paiseh. Haha. Kok Yong bought me Jay chou posters (guess I would give them to Hui Shan whom I believe will appreciate them more!) and a pair of funny-looking boxer with the chinese words,"I <3 Tai Mei" on it. HAHAHA. Thankew arhz. :P

Watched "White Chicks" which Mao Sheng brought it over and I realised he was the one who bought the last piece at Lot One! I'm trying to find the local DVD version but to no avail. Everyone started leaving at 11.30pm. Damn early can and I left at 12.40am after feeling sleepy and nothing much was done there. Thanks Xian Ming for allowing the gathering to be held at your comfortable abode! (my pictures will arrive soon i hope!)

Had my vocal lesson yesterday as usual and was quite late as I need to have a haircut. Everyone was required to sing the phrase,"Ai Wo Hai Shi Ta", "Ai Wo Hai Shi Wo" and "Ai Wo Hai Shi Ni" as she wanted us to find out which ("Ta", "Wo" or "Ni") was easier to sing out. She said I sounded like Fei Yu Qing for a while. -.- Okay, I decided to sing Fei Ni Mo Shu for the graduating song. Can't find Qing Tian Yu leh. :((( Boo.

Met up with Hq to shop around... Was really quite fast man, cos there wasn't much to shop around! Bought a cardigan at $90 dollars. F-fing expensive can. But it's the only size left.

The monstrous Monday has arrived again. I once read in Reader's Digest that Mondays are the worst days of the week and this is the day where new goals are made and expectations are high from bosses. Tension escalates and the office is literally transformed into a battlefield. So if you're going to apply for leave, do it on Thursday or Friday as people are usually more pleasant when the week is ending.

I shopped around yesterday after my vocal lesson and I chanced upon the 50% Topman sales that Chris has been talking about. Usually I don't believe in sales cos the items sold there are either too ugly or are out of your size range. Despite the lack of faith in such sales, I picked up a pair of jeans at $49(UP:$89)and the last cardigan at "S" size at $23(UP:$69). Totally amazing. :D

I was looking around at the range of eau de toilette and I finally found one that I liked. I remembered asking my sister what she thought of "Euphoria" by Calvin Klein but she said it was too common hence I didn't buy that. I told her to go Paris to see if they sell it cheaper there so if not, I'll purchase it here. :) Oh yah, she flew to Paris yesterday at 11pm. So damn happening rite. Air stewardess... Tsk Tsk.

Just came back from my dental appt at Rail mall. My teeth now fucking pain. But my braces would be removed in 5 weeks time! :D FINALLY. Was totally damn sad when I had to wear braces again due to my laziness in wearing retainer at nite when I go to sleep and caused one of my teeth to get out of place. My mum went to see another dentist yesterdae at the same clinic after having extreme pain in her upper left set of gums and teeth. My mum was totally pissed by the fucking attitude the dentist gave that I went to question the dentist what happened and he later apologized.

I am having difficulty in getting the photos from Bing Qin, so I grabbed the photos from her blog cos if not, I would only be possible to blog this weekend, which is a lil too late i think.

Met up with Ying Siew and Bao xin at CCK mrt which we then proceeded to the Settler's Cafe at the outskirts of Holland Village. Damn ulu can.. lol. Bing Qin mentioned this was the last resort as the Clarke Quay outlet was fully booked.

We played lots of games but I think we enjoyed Taboo the most. LOL. There was this word, "Onions", that Ying Siew and Bao Xin had to guess while Kok Weng (Same team) had to do something to help them guess but he can't say some words, for example, "ring".

Kok Weng: *does a cutting action + "tock tock tock" sound and den weeped*

Ying Siew didn't see the cutting action and guessed "Funeral". Damn funny can.

Then there was this word, "Orbit", which Kok Weng had to make his teammates guess again. Can't use the word "Planet". I suddenly thought of some wierd ideas and helped him although I am the opposing team.

Me: *telling Bao Xin* You wear old-fashioned clothes. You are?!?!?!?
Ying Siew: Or-biang!!!

YAY!!! And that was how we spent our New Year's Eve laughing and screaming like a banshee. Each person $10 nia. Got food + free flow drink + 4hrs of gameplay. Cheaper than Minds Cafe. :D

That's why I totally avoid town during festive seasons.

Grilling food at ECP

Hong Qi and Ee Teng were incredibly late and arrived at 2.30pm instead of 2pm. Together, we(Hq, Et, Zhen Jie and Ah Neh)went to collect the bbq food at BBQ wholesale centre which was located somewhere at Bedok. Damn ulu can. Fuck la, they couldn't provide delivery service and we had to go collect it ourselves, even though I said it's ok when the lady on the other side of the phone told me the delivery service was full. I just sold three sets of my naruto figurines for $125. Even though I made a loss of $50, but it's ok.. I was afraid the value would dip lower and lower as the naruto craze die down. Still have some figurines left though. Thinking back, I wasted quite a lot of $$$ just to buy those. Now old liao, no more naruto. :)

Had a mini christmas celebration at Jonny house at East Coast area. Damn nice can..3-storey somemore. Jian Sheng, Jeffery and I met up at Tanah Merah mrt. Raining damn badly when I went out of my house to walk to CCK mrt until my 3/4 pants were 1/2 wet. The 3 of us then proceeded to the Cold storage which was near Jonny's house to purchase some 1.5 litres drinks. While queueing up to pay for the items, Jeffery and I overheard this funny conversation between a SUPER RICH guy (SRG) and the cashier.

Cashier:(actively scanning the barcodes on the items) Hi sir, do you want to buy this chocolate set? It's the last one already.(takes out this purple guitar-shaped plastic that contained about 8 different Cadbury chocolates)
SRG:(ponders for a while) Do you have 2 of those?
Cashier: Oh so sorry, this is the only 1 left.
SRG:I see, then it's okay, don't want.

After a few seconds...

Cashier: You really don't want this chocolate set?
SRG: I have 2 sons, 1 isn't enough, you mean you don't happen to have 1 more somewhere at your shelves?
Cashier:No..Take it, children should share stuffs mah, it's good to share.

Kenneth(birthdate in Dec)got ~~raped~~ mobbed by some guys! Damn hilarious. Bet he was tramautised.

At around 10pm, we started plaeing some lame games that involved drinking alcohol as forfeit. I ended up getting drunk! Luckily I didn't do any embarrassing stuffs but just plonk down at the sofa and slept. When I woke up, it was already 6+am. Trudged to the toilet with a splitting head and was shocked to a bloaty face. LOL.. Went back to sleep and everyone woke up at 8+am. We continued to hang out a while and played some console games before leaving at 12 in a cab.

F.I.R autograph session

Woke up at around 12.10pm.. Kept thinking about F.I.R autograph session which was going to be held at Suntec city's fountain of wealth at 1.30pm. Finally wenyang called me, wasn't really expecting a call though cos he told me he had something on at his camp till late morning.

While waiting for wenyang at City hall mrt station, I saw this caucasian couple trudging out of the mrt with luggages and backpacks while looking at it as if trying to locate a place. Out of kindness (yeah right), I moved forward.

Me: Hello, do u two need any help?!
Couple: Yah, we are trying to find out where Marina mandarin hotel is, do you know how we can get to it?
Me: *recalls* Isn't that at Orchard road? (it was only after a few hours later I realised that I had confused Marina mandarin hotel which was inside marina square shopping centre with Meritus mandarin hotel opposite Heeren.)!
Couple: But the map says its near City hall mrt...
Me: Let me take a look at the map!

After a 20s lapse...

Me: You two mind taking a taxi to the hotel? It's quite far if you travel via citylink to the hotel, not forgetting about your heavy luggages. You just need to take the escalator and hail a cab outside. But be careful not to be scammed by the taxi drivers. They always scam foreigners!!! (remember the recent news reports?)
Couple: *laughs*
Me: The trip should cost around a maximum of $4-$5 (I think so?).
Couple: Thank you!
Me: Welcome!

Wy arrived and we proceeded promptly to the fountain, cos we were late already. Going there at 2.30pm isn't really comforting.. Missed F.I.R's performance. Was relieved to find out that they're still there signing albums but Real wasn't there, only Faye and Ian.

After the session, Wy told me he saw Peifen (who was the emcee for the autograph session) walk in the other direction. Instantly, we followed her as I wanted to take a photo with her. She walk damn fast la.. and she was talking on a phone. So had to wait for her to "kup" her phone before I tap her shoulder... Finally! The long-awaited photo has arrived!!!

We then went to eat at a Japanese restaurant. Called Azabu Sabo. Not bad leh..got free flow of green tea (me=cheapskate)!! Cost a total of $35.75 for our meal.

Omelette Curry ($13.80).

The egg is smooth.. Beef curry is fantastic although I wish there could be more beef slices in it. Rice is of good quality.

Salad which had a tinge of wasabi in it. Not too over-powerful and I finished it. Greens are good for your health. :)

Ah. This soup really is amazing. It's unlike those cloudy miso soup which tastes very salty. This one is light, steamy and non-salty at all. Perfect combination. :D

Mattcha Zen ($7.80). The dango (Japanese for rice-ball) is very chewy plus the red-bean is nice to bite into, although I prefer (greatly) red beans when they're in paste form. The green tea ice-cream don't really have a green-tea taste but more of a "condensed-milk" taste to me. :/

Conclusion: Not bad a restaurant, can be considered for a next visit! :)

WOO HOO! Finally I got GOLD for IPPT. Damn happy and ecstatic. Got a day off and $100 more! :D

Clocked 9.30min (under 9.44min, which was need for a gold!) WOOOTS!
Jian feng told me I ran wrongly when I was at the carpark (not again!) and wasted a few secs. Lol.. nvm bah, since got gold timing already. :D

Yet another weekend zipped by. Played Dota with my elder brother on friday and I won my first online match! First time play, first time win.. Haha.. No la.. It was more of luck and the opposing team weren't strong. Kor bought a 22" LCD screen at $399. Very chio la.

Saturday creeped by and I can't imagined that I cooped at home the entire day to play Dota. Forced myself to visit the gym at around 6+pm.. such immovable determination heh.. :P

Sunday arrived faster than I expected and I went for my 2nd vocal lesson. Maggie (teacher) lamented that my voice was too loud... Damn hilarious la.. But I was like wondering she wan us to project our voice to hit the whiteboard.. Dunno la.. :)

Met up with hq as he wanted to buy gundam stuffs at sunshine plaza.. I suddenly craved for what I had eaten in Hong Kong (went there this January) and decided to eat some HK snacks there. Damn delicious la. You all should go and try it.

It's called Victor's kitchen?

Fried dumplings ($3.50 if I remembered correctly). The skin was very crispy! The yellow sauce that came with it was unique and tasted like a mix of vinegar and soy sauce. However, the meat inside was a tad too little given the enormous skin wrapped around it.

My favourite. Chee cheong fun with prawns inside ($3.50). Totally a near orgasm-experience! The white noodle is damn smooth, plus the prawn inside made this dish extremely mouth-watering.

Carrot cake that Hq ordered ($3.00). We both thought that it was the usual carrot cake you can find at all hawker centres but it turned out to be of another kind. It tasted good although I think I would get more sick of it if I ate that for too long. Usually food that ends up like this are pancakes and waffles.

Prawn dumplings ($3.50) which tasted crunchy in the inside and smooth on the outside.

Headed to Marina Square to buy a small (but extremely loud!) alarm for my sister as she always need to travel around (being an air stewardess) and I thought that the alarm would definitely scare off any potential robbers (touchwood!). I chose this ivory-white alarm and paid subsequently which I then requested for a test of the alarm (I have a penchant for buying stuffs that are spoilt). But after umpteen times of trying to unscrew the alarm (to put the battery in), it still could not be unscrewed and the sales assistant took out the last remaining alarm to test, which was to no avail too. I then picked another type of alarm for which I was rather unwilling cos the ivory-white one is the chio-est la.

Me: *shows interest in another alarm which I thought it wouldn't degrade my sister's fashion sense*
Sales assistant: That one has a 30% (if I am not wrong) discount, and the price after that is $10 which is cheaper than what you chosen.
I didn't think much about wad the person mentioned and brought the alarm to the counter*
Sales assistant: I'm afraid you can't choose this unless perhaps you buy some other stuff to make the price up till $14, as I can't do a refund thingy (she didn't use "thingy" of cos).

Me: But I do not want to buy some other stuffs that I do not need.

After about 5 minutes of a stand-still, which I had the impression that the time given was for me to pick one more item so I could make up the price of $14.

Me: So.. How?
Sales assistant: *repeats what she said earlier*
Me: But it's not my fault that the item I've chosen turned out to be spoilt wad. (I'm don't want to go overboard as I think the service is rather good in Planet Traveller).

I think she got the idea that I'm quite pissed by then and she called out the manager (I suppose) and made a refund of $14 and I paid $10 for the new alarm (And tested it just in case).

Tip: Refunds are possible with Mastercard, if the transaction is made within a day. (That's what my sister told me)

Met up with Langer and we went to arcade and they started trying their luck on this "catch-a-plushie machine". Didn't win any but Langer won at some other arcade before he met us..Lol.

We went to play dota at a lan shop near paradiz centre after that. Can you imagine? I was there for three times in a day liao lor. 1st is for my vocal lesson, 2nd is because Hq needed to go sunshine plaza and 3rd is for lan. Sian...travel here and there. But nonetheless, dota was fun. Haha..

After dota-ing, settled our late dinner at Subway located at Plaza Singapura. First time trying it leh. Not bad I guess, although the cookies were as soft as brownies (which wasn't suppose to be the case, right?).
